New Mexico: Bill to Streamline Concealed Handgun License Training Requirements Advances from House Committee

On Saturday, February 12, the House Consumer & Public Affairs Committee voted 3 to 1 in favor of House Bill 140, a bill by state Representative Nate Gentry (R-ABQ). HB 140 would eliminate the two-hour, mid-term firearms refresher training course required for Concealed Handgun Licensees.  The measure now moves to the House Judiciary Committee for consideration.

Please contact members of House Judiciary and respectfully urge them to support HB 140. Contact information for the committee can be found at: www.nmlegis.gov/lcs/committeedisplay.aspx?CommitteeCode=HJC.  Please continue to check your e-mail and www.NRAILA.org for future updates.
