Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG) Launches FixGunChecks.org

We reported earlier this month that NYC’s Police Department, and thus taxpayers in the Big Apple, paid for the so-called undercover sting operation at a Tucson gun show. So now we have to wonder, who is footing the bill for the FixGunChecks.org program?

According to a release, this will be a two-month tour that starts in New York City’s Time Square and will head across country to “draw attention to the tragic toll of gun violence.” What we want to know is again, who is paying for this program? We also noted that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Press Office phone number (212-788-2958) was on the press release.

Does this mean that this “national” program is being done as part of Bloomberg’s “duties” as Mayor of New York City? In other words, are the taxpayers in New York having to field calls from all over the country because Bloomberg doesn’t realize his powers end at the Hudson River?

Give them a call! We’re sure the people of NYC won’t mind paying for it!

The major point which is never discussed is, the “hoodlums” do not but guns legally! Gun laws and/or background checks won’t solve that problem. More restrictions on gun buyers just put us at a disadvantage with the “shooters”! Having a gun may provide a false feeling of security, but not having on elicit a felling of “fear”! If “they” are sure we don’t have a firearm, we’re in trouble!!!

Well, this ‘train’ was just in Pittsburgh, PA with their little trailer display showing that 1,427 people in the USA were “murdered” by guns since Jared Loughner’s escapade. If these do-gooders want to impact “murder” stats, I suggest they digest this number: since the 01/08/2011 incident, traffic deaths in this country have totaled 4,830.
