If I were Ruger I would sue. Union members are gun owners and believe in the 2d amendment as well. Were any of your ancestors coal miners in West Virginia or were they mine owners who sent mercenaries to murder the miners, the very people who created their wealth, for wanting a fair wage for a days work and safe working conditions. Search “Blair Mountain” and the Ludlow Massacre. If you have no idea what I am talking about, learn about the REAL “old west.” Not the John Wayne nonsense about shootouts at the OK Corral. But the real people who built the railroads and mined the coal to fuel the trains. A world where working people were near slaves to plutocrats that they created the wealth for. Instead of a fair part of the wealth they created, they suffered abuses by company thugs like the Pinkertons because the owners were too greedy and had no regard for the human lives to install basic safety equipment or even a day off. The original rednecks were pro-union to a man, earning their nickname from the red bandanas they wore to show solidarity with their fellow miners. They worked hard then and they work hard now. Think of Obama what you want, I don’t agree with him on a lot of things but at least he is better than the Kochs and their puppets like gov Walker and Snyder. But to slander working men and women who create the wealth allow the Bushes and the Hiltons to sit on their jet set asses by the pool is beyond contempt but unAmerican.
PS USAF “Over All” and there is no kicking ass without tanker gas.
When someone doesn’t know that John Wayne had nothing to do with the shootout at the ok corral, I don’t know if anything can be said.
My Dad was a welder at the Houston Ship Yard before and during the second war. When a vote was taken to allow the union to represent the workers, it failed. After some workers were beaten and others were threatened, a second vote was taken and it failed. More workers were beaten and threatened, until finally the union was voted in. My Dad walked off the job. His reason was that he would not work for a bunch of crooks. So, the union story is not always a pretty one either.
There was a time when unions were a good idea. I believe unions have outlived their usefulness and its time to move on to the next best thing. Its not unions or the government. Its up to you. You can sit on your ass and wait for a hand out OR YOU CAN GO OUT AND EARN WANT YOU WANT. You don’t have to be a union member to do the later but you do have to be a member to do the first.
