Both administrations knew what was best for their people whether or not their people wanted it. Both administrations disregarded laws already present and acted as if the laws apply to everyone else but them.
Both administrations firmly had the press and other media in their back pockets.
Both administrations presented a calming, father-knows-best front while acting like thugs when they thought no one was looking.
Both administrations had a leader who was seen as a savior or messiah of the “common man” all while living like the aristocracy or “well-to-do” they so publicly denounced.
Both administrations worked hard to disarm the populace in order to better control them.
Both administrations will happily have only a short period of time to attempt their societal changes and infringement of personal freedoms before they are pushed out of power.
I have heard from several sources that this is not in fact an actual quote of Hitler’s, but was made up later. I would like it to be authentic, but I think you should check and provide a reliable source for it.
Weather these were his EXACT words or not, I think you are in DENIAL as to the FACT that the “Law was Passed” and results are History! You are in denial to the fact that as a result the country was militarized with no opposing force and that 6 million Jews were ruthlessly exterminated as a result of their disarmament! As to verifying the source of the quote or if the words are verbatim…..I will let you turmoil in the archives on that…. as the “End Result” speaks to the fact more than the specific words or context that were given. Politicians of yesteryear and today are known to say various things to promote their agenda, what makes you think Hitler was any different in getting this law passed?
I’ve read repeatedly that this quote attributed to Hitler is nothing more than an urban legend. I have yet to have read anything that definitively explains where this quote does come from. It would seem that this quote just magically appeared one day and was forever linked to Hitler. Even if Hitler himself never said the words, the spirit behind the words was firmly displayed in the actions of Adolf Hitler.

Classified guns for “sporting purposes”.
All citizens who wished to purchase firearms had to register with the Nazi officials and have a background check.
Presumed German citizens were hostile and thereby exempted Nazis from the gun control law.
Gave Nazis unrestricted power to decide what kinds of firearms could, or could not be owned by private persons.
The types of ammunition that were legal were subject to control by bureaucrats.
Juveniles under 18 years could not buy firearms and ammunition.

The Night of the Broken Glass (Kristallnacht)–the infamous Nazi rampage against Germany’s Jews–took place in November 1938. It was preceded by the confiscation of firearms from the Jewish victims. On Nov. 8, the New York Times reported from Berlin, “Berlin Police Head Announces ‘Disarming’ of Jews,” explaining:
